As an on-screen presenter, you would have seen him on SuperSport Blitz (Channel 201 on DSTV), Tellytrack (Channel 239 on DSTV) bringing you “The Racing Roundup with Clive Maistry”.

Describe yourself in 5 words?

Motivated, Driven, Funny, Witty, Charming.

What are you currently up to, career-wise?

I am currently working as a content creator for a Television Station on DSTV where I do basically attend to all content and creative packages for the show.

I am also busy with a new sport variety social media show for the channel which we're in the process of shooting a pilot for!

Other news-worthy gigs would be, I took my Mister SA health journey a step further 'post-comp' and embarked on a business venture called The Hot Chef SA - which provides corporates with healthy fresh and frozen meals on the daily. The brand has also found a home in the form of a smoothy bar at a well-known fitness institute based in Rivonia.

With regards to some exciting news for readers of gossip online magazines - there's a feature coming soon whereby I chat to other celebs about their lives, in a very 'quirky" way that may get tongues wagging - not to give too much away ;)

What was your childhood like?

I had a pretty interesting childhood - being the youngest of 4 kids! You can imagine that the struggle was very real - haha - in terms of everything from the lions share of toys to clothes etc. But ONE thing I did not struggle for, was attention! I think I was a natural performer in all sense of the word from a very young age. In between schooling, I attended modelling classes as well as many many [MANY] auditions my mom used to accompany me to! I suppose, starting off in the industry - it was a given that hard work would be key!

When did you first discover a love for the entertainment industry?

It was actually at a wedding I had gone to with the folks.

There was a live band and seeing this guy just owning it - really lit a spark within me - and I was like, Now that looks Exciting!!

Who are you when you’re simply at home, on a Sunday afternoon?

I am the BIGGEST series binge watcher you'll ever meet! LOL! Sunday routine usually involves a morning of gym, then a quick shop run and the rest is spent in my comfies enjoying some quality me time! I tried to get a totally afternoon wind-down which involves centering myself - I don't take any calls - I just enjoy the quiet before the storm - which is then the week ahead!

Who do you admire within the South African entertainment industry, and why?

Currently, I would have to say The Queen B - Miss Bonang! I mean, what can she not do?

I am so inspired by her fearlessness and courage to pursue what she wants and how she totally owns her craft!!

I enjoy people who know their worth and aren't afraid to say No to what they feel they truly deserve and want wholeheartedly!

How do you deal with negative criticism?

Neg-crit is really difficult - Especially when you are honestly just trying to do your best and stay in your own lane!

Over the last year - I have been body shamed, as well as been type-cast into such a negative light - and sadly what the public hear, they believe.

I usually tend to laugh it off - especially if I know it isn't true!

Who is your role model and why?

I've always said this and still stand by it - My Hero, My Icon - My Mom!

Why? One word -  Superwoman!!

Where’s the most interesting place you have travelled to and why?

Probably one of the most interesting places I've been to is Mozambique! The richness and culture and just the beautiful people!

Loved the tropical vibe and not to mention the freshness of the seafood! I am a big seafood guy!!

What motto or words do you live by?

My New favourite motto - which I stumbled upon earlier this year and really hit home, was and is "Mountains Can't Rise without Earthquakes!" - Which inevitably will be my next tattoo!

We all know that the media doesn’t always get all their info correct, what is the strangest thing you have read about yourself that wasn’t true?

OMG! I read that I was having an affair with my best friend and it was a love child! We still laugh about it! hahahha

What is the most memorable tweet you have received or been tagged in?

Miss Kelly Khumalo telling me my dimple was illegal !!! #DayMade

In your sporting career, you get to meet a wide variety of people. Who was your most memorable?

Definitely the late and great Mister Nelson Mandela. It was like meeting Royalty and you go blank for a good few secs!! You can't help but just be in awe!

I am sure you have encountered a few fans along the way, what has been your favourite fan encounter?

If I could say the most memorable fan encounter was when Magnum SA dedicated an entire evening to ME and I got to invite some fans thru and spend some QT with them, answering their questions, taking pictures and just hanging out.

Did you always see yourself in the entertainment industry, or did you have different dreams as a child?

I funny enough also wanted to change course and get into veterinary sciences - but stayed true to my heart and continued on pursuing the life of an entertainer!

Entertainment has always been my 1st love - but I still wonder how life would have been working alongside our furry friends - which is another great love and passion of mine!

Dr Maistry - has a certain ring to it hey ;)

What has been your most challenging decision in your career thus far? What made it so challenging?

Many moons ago - to either choose a TV contract over a radio contract as they were very badly clashing!! TV has always been my 1st love, as you all would have guessed by now - But at the end of the day, the choice wasn't as easy I would have thought - as they were both two very different communication mediums!

Final Score: TV 1 - 0 Radio

Everyone harbours a pet peeve. What is yours?

Where do I begin with this one! Aside from when people say "Please don't take offense, BUT" and totally redundant hashtags .... It would be chewing loudly! :\

Final Question. If you could choose any superhero to play on a big budget Hollywood production, who would you play?

Possibly Venom (despite him not being an actual acclaimed "Hero") He Rocks!

I like his dark humour, his wittiness, his sick "costume" and of course his insane abilities aka powers!
