Our friends at SkinPhD Queenswood share their recommended at-home Avocado Face Mask recipe.

With the current state of the nation, bad skin doesn't have to be added to the list! The secret to great skin is as close as your kitchen, and with the national lockdown that isn't too far away for everyone - which is why you shouldn't neglect your skincare routine over the next few weeks!

Pamper yourself with this simple, homemade face mask recipe recommended by the ladies at SkinPhD Queenswood.

“It is especially important over the next few weeks not to let the lockdown get the better of you by eating unhealthy foods that may affect your skin, or skimping on your skincare routine because you no longer need to implement your regular daily work routine. A few days of neglecting your skin, can cause weeks of havoc on the skin's overall health which is why it's important to maintain skincare discipline.”- says SkinPhD Queenswood.

If you don't have an array of SkinPhD beauty products stocked up, you can opt for a more natural face-mask, AND what's great is that you can do it as often as you like.

Marriette and Carla recommend you try an Avocado face mask, as it boasts a number of natural health benefits as well as skincare benefits. This avocado face mask is an all natural, and simple homemade mask that uses the power of nature to help tone, condition, and refresh your skin, all in the comfort of your own home.

WHAT YOU NEED:

1 ripe avocado, peeled and pitted 1 egg yolk 2 Tbs of raw honey 1 Tbs avocado oil  1 tsp full-fat yogurt APPLYING THE MASK: Puree all the ingredients of the avocado face mask in a blender, or mash together with a fork until smooth. Place a warm washcloth over your face for 20 – 30 seconds. This will help open your pores so your skin can soak up the mask. Apply a thin layer of the avocado mask evenly over your face. Leave to soak into the skin for 10 – 15 minutes. Gently wipe off with a moist cloth and rinse off any excess with clean water.
