Queen B and Miss South Africa announced as the faces of Sun Met 2020 campaign.
The sixth floor at the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa (Zeitz MOCAA), inspired the perfect setting for the official campaign launch of the 2020 Sun Met, capturing the imagination and minds of attending media, sponsors, celebrities and special guests in the Silo District on 1 October.
The Sun Met campaign revealed award-winning actress, television sensation and entrepreneur, Bonang Matheba and recently crowned Miss South Africa, Zozibini Tunzi as the face of African Luxury: Visionaries, the theme for the upcoming event. African trend dictator and fashion designer, Palesa Mokubung styled and dressed both Matheba and Thunzi for the campaign shoot. “My vision for the Sun Met embodies African finesse and is inspired by a generation of Africans that are both global and still embrace their culture”, explained Mokubung.
The theme calls on all race goers to feel inspired by their inner most vision, creativity and innovation and arrive ready to transform Africa’s Richest Race Day into a harmony of epic colour, style and imagination. Gareth Flusk, Sun International Events & Entertainment Manager commented: “We want to pay homage to the visionaries. To introduce a platform where creatives of all kinds can showcase their ideas. To write and share their stories through fashion, music, tech and horse racing. Where imagination comes to life in all aspects”.
The 2020 Sun Met entertainment line-up will feature some of South Africa’s finest talent including South African DJ and record producer DJ Black Coffee and Themba Nkosi. Award-winning SAMA ‘Record of the Year’ Holly Rey will join the line-up along with a host of local DJs. Sun Met ticket holders will once again have complimentary access to the official Sun Met After Party Marquee, as general access tickets automatically grant access into the After Party.
Africa’s Richest Race Day welcome new sponsors this year with House of BNG set to be the Celebration Partner of the Sun Met 2020. “The Sun Met is one of the biggest events on the social calendar and I am excited to announce and celebrate our partnership”, commented Bonang Matheba.
