The Brothers Streep announce 2nd half of their comical podcast series - AGONY UNCLES.

The hilarious new podcast by The Brothers Streep, AGONY UNCLES, continues
with the announcement of the 2 nd half of the series, as episode 4 is released on
Friday 30 October.
Listeners are loving the new 6-part podcast series, with one episode being released
each Friday since 9 October and will continue until week 6 on Friday, 13 November.
Episodes 1 – 4 are currently available to listen on The Brothers Streep website and
across various digital platforms.
Agony Uncles is a comedy panel game show - think Q.I. or Mock the Week, but
it’s local - where top comedians and actors join Cape Town’s The Brothers Streep,
along with host Andrew Kerr to discuss life’s quibbles and how to solve them.
Agony Uncles was recorded in front of a live audience (pre-lockdown), with the
Brothers being joined in this first series by special guests Alan Committie, Angel
Campey, Anne Hirsch, Mel Jones, Stuart Taylor and Yaaseen Barnes ensuring
each episode is jam-packed with their additional hilarious spin on these all-important
life questions.

Says Dylan Hichens, member of The Brothers Streep, "We're halfway through the release of the first series and the support and feedback has been wonderful! We're so glad to be sharing these episodes with everyone, old followers and brand new listeners alike.”
Hichens continues; “Back in 2019 when we recorded the shows, we obviously couldn't have anticipated the strange year 2020 would be, but there's been a tiny silver lining in being able to provide a bit of levity with Agony Uncles. And once again, all credit to our amazing guests who joined us for this first series and brought the laughs by the bucketload!"

Even though The Brothers Streep are best known as a musical comedy act, they’ve
been recording podcasts for years and have always dreamed of creating a panel
show like the ones they enjoy on TV and radio. Agony Uncles is a passion project of theirs and the start of a new season for the guys, where they hope to do more of this sort of thing in front of live audiences across the country once normality – or the closest to it - returns.
The Brothers Streep are an acoustic comedy act from Cape Town formed by Dylan
Hichens and Simon van Wyk.
Currently celebrating over 10 years on the scene, they have made their mark locally
through playing various comedy clubs, music festivals and the corporates. They’ve
played The Edinburgh Fringe, The National Arts Festival Fringe, and have been
on SA Idols and Hectic Nine-9. It was their quirky Anna Paquin’s Face Scrunching Song that captured Graham Norton’s attention in England and catapulted them into notoriety as he asked them to appear – from Cape Town - on his BBC TV show.
Andrew Kerr joins the duo on the podcast as the host of Agony Uncles. For the last few years, Kerr has been the producer of The Brothers Streep Show, another podcast which started as a show on 2oceansvibe Radio. Kerr’s credits include Theatresports, being a fleeting extra on The IT Crowd finale, and embarrassing our country on Robot Wars (UK) with Yebo Robo - a robot which broke the moment it entered the arena.
Here’s a brief synopsis for the final three episodes of the podcast series.
Friday 30 October.
Episode Four | Naughty Corner featuring Anne Hirsch and Mel Jones
The Agony Uncles are back with special guests Anne Hirsch and Mel Jones to help
solve your problems, which include how to get along with punchable colleagues and
how to find love from more than just your pets. There’s also mourning over ripped
jeans, lamenting the existence of soy milk, and handy tips on ironing clothes without
an iron, and creating makeshift cheese cutters.

Friday 7 November.
Episode Five | Evil Banana featuring Angel Campey and Stuart Taylor
Angel Campey and Stuart Taylor return as guests to help The Brothers Streep find
solutions for a 28 year old who wants to go on a date wearing a nappy, and a
Constantia mom who’s dog is being accused of divergent defecation. They also
bemoan the act of eating after using toothpaste, grieve early morning wake-ups, and
provide quick ways to make flowers last longer, and a homemade remedy for sore
throats.
Friday 13 November.
Episode Six | Chicken Casserole featuring Alan Committie & Yaaseen Barnes
Dylan and Simon are joined once again by special guests Alan Committie and
Yaaseen Barnes to help cover up an accidental fall, and vouch for a man’s
legitimate interest in the combination of Lego and Star Wars. They also query the
tradition of meal rosters for new parents, protest not having enough time for listening
to podcasts, and provide break-through solutions to combating lack of sleep, and
getting bad smells off your hands.
