WHO WILL BE BEST DRESSED AT THE JOHANNESBURG CAP CLASSIQUE & CHAMPAGNE FESTIVAL?

Apart from the array of MCC, Champagne and Prosecco houses that will be showing off their bubbly at the Johannesburg Cap Classique & Champagne Festival, one of the highlights of the weekend is sure to be the Best Dressed Competition which will take place on both days.

Sponsored by Sanlam Private Wealth, The Johannesburg Cap Classique & Champagne Festival takes place on Saturday, April 13 and Sunday, April 14, from 12h00 to 17h00 at the glamorous Polo Club at Inanda.

Fashionistas are encouraged to follow the festival's Blue & White colour theme if they are to impress the judges and walk away with some fabulous prizes. These include a two night's stay for two at the luxurious Mont d’Or Sandton Villas as well as MCC magnums and fragrance hampers. On both days, entrants will be judged by fellow festival goers at 15:00 with the MC for the competition being the acclaimed music man himself, Ian Bredenkamp.

For those keen to concentrate on the bubbly rather than the fashion, there will be more than 20 different bubbles to taste from around the world including top local MCCs such as Genevieve, Krone, Simonsig, Paul René, Black Elephant Vintners, L’Ormarins, Graham Beck, Silverthorn, Pierre Jourdan, Boschendal, Pongracz, Villiera, Bon Courage and Saronsberg.

Those who prefer their bubbles to have a French pedigree can sip on Taittinger, Mumm, Bollinger, Nicolas Feuillatte or Luc Belaire, while Prosecco lovers can choose Sartori, Da Luca or Valdo. Says organiser Darielle Robertson: “Fashion and bubbly always goes hand in hand so we expect to see some glamorous, eye-catching outfits from both the men and the women at the festival."

Robertson has also promised an array of mouth-watering food stalls and food trucks as well as live music from the talented Véronique Lalouette to complete a not-to-be-missed weekend.

Tickets for The Johannesburg Cap Classique and Champagne Festival are available via www.webtickets.co.za and cost R380 per person which includes a glass and 10 tasting coupons.
