OGX introduces Blonde Enhance+ at Elevate Your Influence event.

At the end of September, OGX held an influencer and media event at the Pour House in Prison Break Market in Johannesburg. The Elevate Your Influence Event aimed to give members of the media and influencers some expert tips on how to make the most of their flat lays for Instagram, and how to navigate and manage their relationships with beauty brands. But at the heart of the day was OGX, the much-loved hair care brand everyone has come to know and trust for gentle, effective hair care.

The day started with a rose test to illustrate how gentle OGX products are. Two roses were submerged in two different shampoo solutions – one OGX, and the other a competitor product. The rose submerged in OGX shampoo emerged unscathed, looking good as new albeit a little wet, while the rose submerged in the competitor shampoo emerged looking wilted. The moral of this story? OGX’s shampoos are pH-balanced and sulphate-free. If they’re this gentle on a rose, imagine how gentle they’ll be on your hair!

Speakers on the day included Kirsti Spilkin (OGX SA brand manager), who chatted to attendees about what pH-balanced and sulfate-free surfactant shampoos mean for our hair; Kay Glover (PR and brand communication expert of OGX UK), who spoke about what brands look for In influencers and Kyle Van Der Schyff (South African photographer) who spoke about lighting, and who showed guests how to take the best photos for the brand they are working with. Guests were then given the opportunity to use Kyle’s tips and tricks to take their own flatlay photos.

OGX also unveiled their much-anticipated new Blonde Enhance+ hair care shampoo at the event. The Blonde Enhance+ Purple Toning Shampoo is the new must-have for natural and colour-treated

OGX Blonde Enhance+ Purple Toning Shampoo (From R209.99)

Brass be gone with OGX Blonde Enhanced + Purple Toning Shampoo! This highly pigmented and potent dark purple toning shampoo is easy to use and helps get rid of brass with every rinse. Use it to brighten and colour-correct yellow tones on silver, pre-lightened or natural blonde hair with strengthening ingredients like keratin, purple fig and iris. After rinsing, follow it up with your favourite conditioner—maybe add a few drops of OGX Purple Toning Drops to enhance the effect. Banish unwanted, brassy tones.

It was also reiterated that OGX products went through a formulation makeover and now boast sulphate-free and pH-balanced formulas to ensure the health of your hair.

Why is pH-balance so important?

The new upgraded OGX collection is now pH-balanced, but what exactly does this mean? The pH scale ranges from zero to 14, zero being acidic and 14 being alkali. If your shampoo’s pH is too low, the ability to clean is compromised. If your shampoo’s pH is too high, it can cause damage and lead to unwanted frizz.

Your hair and scalp have a naturally acidic pH, which generally sits between 4.5 and 5.5. If this pH balance is altered by using hair care formulas not suitable to your hair and scalp’s pH, you may experience discomfort and dryness. Choosing a shampoo as close as possible to your hair’s natural pH is key.

OGX’s luxurious pH-balanced and sulphate-free surfactant formulas are packed with precious oils, exotic ingredients and amazing fragrances that you and your hair will love, putting the ‘care’ back into haircare and respecting and nurturing your hair and scalp without stripping it of its moisture and natural oils.

Now pH-balanced, the newly-upgraded OGX collection features:

· A gentler formula that helps prevent hair damage;

· Keeps hair shiny

· Protects hair colour

· Provides better frizz control

· Reduces split ends

· Delivers better hair movement

· Provides long lasting hair and scalp moisturisation
