Tokara Premium, the flagship blended Extra Virgin olive oil of this acclaimed family owned Stellenbosch wine and olive estate, has brought home a Gold medal as a Top Five achiever at the inaugural Amsterdam International Olive Oil Competition (AIOOC) 2022.
The only competition of its kind in the Netherlands, the AIOOC is hosted by the ‘Stichting Olijfolie Nederland’, a non-profit organisation tasked with educating consumers about the benefits of olive oil. The entries were judged by a panel of leading industry professionals including top Dutch chefs. Tokara Premium EVOO will be among the award winning oils showcased at significant Dutch trade shows during the course of the year.
Tokara enjoys recognition as one of South Africa’s top producers of world-class EVOO. The farm’s olive oil journey began in 2000 with primarily Tuscan olive varieties. Today, four cold pressed EVOOs are produced – two single varietal oils and two more intense multi-varietal blends.
